Biography

Alfred Mégroz was a Swiss footballer and figure skater who represented his country internationally in both sports. He was also a figure skating judge.

Mégroz played domestic football for FC Montriond-Lausanne. In 1905 Mégroz earned his first international call-up to the national team, playing in a friendly match against France. Mégroz played in two more international friendlies in 1908, one more against France and one against Germany. Mégroz was also the captain of the Swiss team in the match against the French.

Mégroz was the Swiss national figure skating champion in 1919, 1921, and 1924. Mégroz competed in the figure skating at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics where he finished in eighth place. Mégroz also judged the mixed pairs at the same Games. Mégroz was scheduled to compete in the figure skating at the 1924 Chamonix Olympics but he did not start the competition.
