Biography

Tom Mellor was a 6-1 (1.85), 185 lb. (79 kg.) defenseman who attended Boston College. During his time in school in played for the 1972 Olympic team and the 1971 and 1973 U.S. National teams at the World’s Championship. In his senior season he was voted first team all-East. Mellor then went on to have a short career in the NHL. He was signed by the Detroit Red Wings, but spent most of his time with their minor league club, the Virginia Wings. He also spent part of the 1973-74 season playing in a British hockey league with the London Lions.
