Biography

Fritz Naef was a prolific scoring right winger who was capped for Switzerland 51 times in ice hockey, scoring 52 international goals. He competed at the 1956 Winter Olympics, the A-Group World Championships in 1955 and 1962, and the B-Group Worlds in 1961. In club play, Naef was with Lausanne HC from 1954-60, and then played for Genève-Servette HC from 1960-74, when he ended his playing career. Naef set the NLA (Swiss League) record of 8 goals in one game, which he did on 21 January 1967 in a 12-3 victory against Young Sprinters Neuchâtel.
