Biography

Claire Vautrin was France’s first representative in the women’s K-1 500 event at the 1948 Olympics in London, finishing fourth in her heat and thus not advancing to the final. She was married to Robert Vautrin (1909–2003), one of the founders and longtime members of the Fédération Française de Canoë-Kayak (FFCK) and an official at the 1968 Olympic Games. Their son André was also active in the sport and a member of the national team in the 1950s.
