Biography

Jeff Norton was a playmaking defenseman who played for the University of Michigan, before joining the US Olympic Team for the 1987-88 season. He played in the NHL from 1990-2002, starting with the New York Islanders, but he eventually played for eight teams, later with the San Jose Sharks, St. Louis Blues, Edmonton Oilers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and finishing his last year with the Boston Bruins. In his NHL career, Norton appeared in 799 games, scoring 52 goals, with 384 points, fair numbers for a defenseman. Internationally, Norton played for the US at the 1988 Winter Olympics, and the World Championships in 1989 and 1990.
