Biography

Beni Obermüller was an Alpine skier, participating in the 1952 Oslo and the 1956 Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Games. In 1956 he finished ninth in the slalom, which was his best Olympic result. In 1952-53, 1955, 1957 and 1959 he was the German slalom champion, and in the last of those years he was also the giant slalom champion. His greatest moment came in 1954 when he won the slalom silver medal at the World Championships. This was the first medal for Germany in Alpine skiing after World War II.
