Biography

Berend Schabus was an Austrian speed skater who participated in the 1976 Innsbruck Winter Olympics. He finished 26th over 500 metres, 25th over 1,000 metres and 29th over 1,500 metres. He won several Austrian national titles. Schabus later became an assistant director at the Schauspielhaus Graz and then a freelance artist in the field of caricature and figurative and abstract painting.

Personal Bests: 500 – 39.97 (1980); 1000 – 1:19.12 (1977); 1500 – 2:03.3 (1977); 5000 – 7:37.8 (1977); 10000 – 15:54.85 (1977).
