Biography

Ice hockey defender Peter Scharf earned 138 international caps with the West German national team. He competed at the 1980 Lake Placid and the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics and also at seven World Championships. He was inducted into the German Ice Hockey Hall of Fame.

Domestically, Scharf played with EC Bad Tölz (until 1976 and from 1987-89), Berliner SC (1976-78), and SB Rosenheim (1978-87). He helped Rosenheim win the West German Championship in 1982 and 1985, and then started a coaching career in lower division clubs.
