Buzz Schneider went to the University of Minnesota where he played hockey. He had also hoped to play baseball in college and even considered a pro career in that sport, but hockey took up all of his time. Buzz was a regular on U.S. National teams beginning in 1974. He played on the 1976 Olympic team and on the U.S. world’s teams from 1974 through 1977. Starting in 1978 he played in the International Hockey League, before making the 1980 U.S. Olympic team. After the Olympics, Schneider played for Bern in the Swiss leagues for two years before rejoining the U.S. National team for the 1982 World Championships. He later ran a sporting goods store and then became a real estate broker.
