Biography

Garth Snow played college hockey at the University of Maine after having been drafted by the Québec Nordiques in the sixth round of the 1987 NHL Draft. Snow was a goaltender who played over 365 NHL games with the Nordiques, Philadelphia Flyers, Vancouver Canucks, Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Islanders. He also played part of the 2004/05 season with SKA St. Petersburg in Russia. Snow represented the United States at the 1994 Winter Olympics and the 1998 World Championships.

After retiring in 2006, Snow was shortly thereafter named general manager of the New York Islanders. He was later named President of the organization. In 2007 he was named NHL Executive of the Year, and served with the Islanders for over 10 years in administration.
