Biography

Helmut Voggenberger was an Austrian Nordic skier who participated in the 1968 Grenoble Winter Olympics. He finished 35th in the individual Nordic combined. Five years earlier he won the Austrian youth national title.

As he was employed by the Austrian police at Zell am See, Voggenberger could not continue in his sport due to time problems. He then turned to football playing with Wacker Innsbruck and won three national championships and one Austrian Cup in the early 1970s.

After the football career he turned to playing Boccia, and won three more national titles and a silver medal with the national team at the 1994 European Championships. His children Brigitte and Helmut became professional volleyball players.
