Austrian snowboarded Heidi Jaufenthaler placed 14th in the giant slalom event at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. She had several podium places in World Cup races and became European Championship runner-up in Olympic year. As a result, she became #1 on the world ranking list. Jaufenthaler later became head of speech therapy at Bezirkskrankenhaus Lienz. She also founded her own practice in the city.
