Biography

Mariano Ferrario was a freestyle aerialist who competed at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. He unfortunately tore his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) on his first jump at Nagano, however, and finished only 15th. He was out for 18 months from that ligament injury.

Ferrario was on the US ski team from 1994-2002, retiring after missing the US team for Salt Lake City, and competed on the World Cup circuit for nine years. He had two podiums on the World Cup circuit, a silver at Tignes in December 1997, and a bronze at Altenmarkt-Zauchensee in March 1996. Ferrario graduated from the University of Utah in 2001 with a degree in exercise and sports science. He also later worked as a website designer, notably with Puma Global as a team member on the design of their digital platform.
