Description

Traditionally, Greenland’s Olympic affairs have been overseen by Denmark but in 1996 they started to make efforts to establish their own Olympic identity. So far, they have not been successful although at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games three Greenlandic Nordic skiers competed as part of the Danish team. As of 2022, Greenland is a member of at least five International Federations. Greenland has competed independently at the Arctic Winter Games since their inception in 1970 and at the Island Games.
