Protection of the Female Category Working Group ()

The Protection of the Female Category Working Group was formed by new IOC President Kirsty Coventry in September 2025. The goals of the working group were to “look at how [the IOC] can best protect the female category. The group will consist of experts and international federations. The names of the members of the working group will remain confidential for now to protect the integrity of the group and their work.”

The confidentiality of the working group members was likely due to the controversial nature of the questions it will be considering, including whether to allow trans-gender males to compete in female competitions, and how or if gender testing should be conducted.
