Cycling Road at the 1932 Summer Olympics

Dates 4 – 4 August 1932
Medal Events 2

The road cycling program was the same as it would be at every Olympics from 1920-56 – a single road race that awarded both individual and team medals. The road race was a 100 km individual time trial with the team event based on the individual times. The only difference in the team road race was that it had been previously based on the best three times of four riders, but in 1932, each team had only three riders and all three times counted. This would be the last time until 1996 that an individual time trial road event would be conducted at the Olympics. Italy’s Attilio Pavesi won the individual gold medal and led Italy to victory in the team race.
