There were three literature events in the 1948 Arts Competition – Dramatic Works, Epic Works, and Lyric Works. There were 29 known participants from 13 nations. However, there is no known complete list of entrants for the 1948 literature competitions, although it is known that 18 nations (Austria, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Finland, France, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Uruguay) sent entries.
