Baseball was demonstrated at the 1900 Olympics with a single game between two US teams. Baseball was a part of Section I of the physical section of the Paris Exposition. The game was held on Thursday, 20 September, although the location is not certain. One team was formed from the admirable guard corps of the United States Commission (Guards Team), while the other was selected from the publishers building at the Exposition (Publishers Team).

Baseball was also a demonstration sport at the 1912, 1936, 1956, 1964, 1984, and 1988 Olympics. In addition, in 1952 Finnish baseball, or pesäpallo, was a demonstration at the Helsinki Olympics. Baseball became a full medal sport in 1992, although it was dropped from the Olympic Program after the 2008 Olympics.
