Cross Country Skiing at the 1932 Winter Olympics

Dates 10 – 13 February 1932
Medal Events 2

Once again there were only two cross-country ski events, the men’s 18 km and 50 km races. Ski conditions in Lake Placid in 1932 were difficult as the area had a very dry winter. It was the era before snow-making so for the men’s 50 km, the course was shortened and skied twice to enable the skiers to finish the distance. However, on the day of the race, a snowstorm fell, causing the start to be delayed for three hours.
