The men’s team combined event was held as the second Alpine skiing event at Milano-Cortina. This event was first introduced at the 2023 World Junior Alpine Skiing Championships. It was a new event at the Olympics and was not even on the 2024 Winter Youth Olympic programme. It had never been contested at the World Cup and held only once at the World Championships, making this Olympic competition only the second time the event had been held at the highest level. Switzerland’s Franjo von Allmen and Loïc Meillard crowned themselves as 2025 World Champions with Alexis Monney / Tanguy Nef and Stefan Rogentin / Marc Rochat completing the podium to give Switzerland a clean sweep.

After the downhill race two days before, which was contested on the exact same slope, the favourites were expected to come from Switzerland and Italy as these nations settled in the first five places in that event. This proved to be true as the top five racers from the downhill finished in the top five positions although in a different order. First this time was Italy’s Giovanni Franzoni (after winning silver two days before), followed by Monney, Marco Odermatt, von Allmen (gold in the downhill), and Italian Dominik Paris (bronze), all separated by only 59 hundredths-of-a-second.

Before the top five started their slalom phase two Austrian teams were in the overall lead with Vincent Kriechmayr and Manuel Feller, and Raphael Haaser and Michael Matt. Italy’s Tommaso Sala, partnering Dominik Paris was not able to overtake them, but brought his team to third place. Tanguy Nef, von Allmen’s partner, took the lead with what later turned out to be the best slalom time, and right after him Loïc Meillard (with Odermatt) tied for second with Kriechmayr / Feller.

The team of von Allmen / Nef skied on Head and Atomic as did Kriechmayr / Feller while Odermatt / Meillard raced on Stöckli and Rossignol. Of the 20 teams only one did not finish when Italian Florian Schieder did not complete his downhill run.
