With six of the top eight finishers in the individual event, Belgium easily won this unusual competition. The scoring consisted of each team using the scores of their top three finishers in the individual figure riding. Only three teams competed but Switzerland also entered and wanted to compete but were stopped at the last minute by the Swiss government, who were concerned about rumors of an outbreak of foot and mouth disease in Belgium.
