As he had in 1900, Ray Ewry dominated the three standing jumping events. In the standing high jump, Lawson Robertson and Joseph Stadler tied and settled second place on a jump-off. This went to Stadler, a black man from Cleveland, who became one of the first of his race to win an Olympic medal.
