Two demonstrations of Swedish gymnastics were given by the Svenska Gymnastikforbundet, with 200 male and 200 female gymnasts. Swedish gymnastics was developed by P. H. Ling in the early 1800s. The first exhibition was given in the Empire Stadium on Saturday, 7 August, just before the start of the marathon race.
