There were 16 different automobile contests at the 1900 Paris Exposition. This was the event for the largest cars in the automobile competitions. It took place over five days, with the cars required to cover 150 km per day and 34.35 km on the track at Lac Daumesnil each day. Only one vehicle competed in this category, driven by Panhard and Levassor, which caused the jury to decide to move the art object for the winner to the category for four-seaters. Thus, in some sources, they are listed as second place, as they received only a silver medal, which was to be given to the second-placed car.
