Biography

Quebec native Jacques Tache was a member of the Ottawa Ski Club and had his most successful years as an amateur ski jumper in the early 1930s. He was selected as a reserve for Canada’s delegation to the ski jumping event at the 1932 Summer Olympics, but did not actually participate. He continued to compete through the 1930s, but his career ended with the onset of World War II. By profession he was an officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force and he continued to complete in military ski tournaments during the conflict. He eventually rose to the rank of Squadron Leader.
