Tibor Helyi had the following podium finishes at the Flatwater World Championships: 1st 1985 K4 10000 m (with the non-Olympians Zoltán Böjti, Zoltán Kovács, and Kálmán Petrikovics), 2nd 1987 K4 10000 m (with the non-Olympians Zoltán Berkes, Zoltán Böjti, and Kálmán Petrikovics), 3rd 1982 K4 10000 m (with the non-Olympians Kálmán Petrikovics, László Rasztotzky, and Tamás Szekes), 3rd 1986 K4 10000 m (with the non-Olympians Zoltán Böjti, László Nieberl, and Kálmán Petrikovics).
