Gusztáv Leikep had the following podium finishes at the Flatwater World Championships: 2nd 1989 C4 1000 m (with Attila Szabó, Gábor Takács, and the non-Olympian Ervin Hoffmann), 2nd 1990 C4 500 m (with Attila Szabó and the non-Olympians Zsolt Bohács and Ervin Hoffmann), 2nd 1990 C4 1000 m (with Attila Szabó and the non-Olympians Gáspár Boldizsár and Ervin Hoffmann).
