Simone Eder was an Austrian luger placing 11th in the women’s singles event at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. She was fifth in the World Cup in 2001 and 2002, and eighth in the overall World Cup standings 2000-02. She also came fourth in the team event at the 2002 European Championships in Altenberg, sixth in the team event at the 2000 World Championships in St. Moritz, and individual 13th in the 2001 World Championships. Eder later became a luge coach and physiotherapist by profession.
