Biography

Peter Thorndike was a snowboarder who competed in parallel giant slalom at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. He competed on the World Cup circuit from 1997-2006 with a best finish of sixth at the Valle Nevado boardercross event. Thorndike won six NorAm Cup races and one Continental Cup race. He raced at the World Championships in 2001, 2003, and 2005, placing 11th in parallel GS in 2003.

From New Hampshire, Thorndike later settled with his family in Center Harbor, New Hampshire where he and his wife and children often raced in the King Pine Pioneer Race Series. He also ran a snowboard camp in New Hampshire. Thorndike was a 1996 graduate of Stratton Mountain School in Vermont.
