Biography

Julie Pomagalski was a French snowboarder who competed in parallel giant slalom at the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics. In 2006 she also competed in boardercross at the Torino Winter Olympics. Pomagalski was the 1999 World Champion in boardercross and won a silver medal in parallel giant slalom at the 2003 Worlds.

Pomagalski was the granddaughter of Jean Pomagalski, who invented the first ski lift in 1934 and founded the brand Poma in 1947. Tragically, Julie Pomagalski died at only 40-years-old when she was caught in an avalanche in the Swiss Alps.
