Thomas Pöck

Ice hockey defence Thomas, the son of Herbert Pöck, was a member of the Austrian squad participating at the 2002 Salt Lake City and the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. In 2002, the team lost to Germany and Latvia and won against Slovakia but was eliminated in the group stage. The finally placed 12th after losing to Switzerland in the final round. In 2014, Austria lost to Finland and Canada, but won against Norway, also being eliminated in the group stage. In the play-offs, Austria then lost to Slovakia.

At club level Pöck played in Austria with EC Klagenfurter AC (until 2000 and again between 2013-16) before moving to North America, playing with University of Massachusetts (2000-04), Hartford Wolf Pack (2004-09), and New York Islanders (2008-09). He then moved to Switzerland to Rapperswil-Jona Lakers (2009-11), and Sweden to MODO Hockey (2011-12), returning to North America with Lake Erie Monsters (2012-13). After playing with Klagenfurt again he moved to Grazer 99ers (2016-17).

Pöck won 50 international caps and scored 11 points (four goals + seven assists). He later turned to youth and female coaching. His brother Markus also became an ice hockey professional.
