Biography

Louise Holcombe competed at the 1972 Olympics just after getting out of high school at Sandy Springs Friends School in Sandy Springs, Maryland. She later graduated from Goucher College in 1976. Holcombe competed at the 1971 World Championships, placing seventh. In 1973 she won a gold medal in the K-1 team event at the 1973 Canoe Slalom World Championships. She later became a filmmaker, doing photography for, among other projects, “The Haircut” (1992).
