Biography

Paul Bochnewich served in the US Navy with the Seabees in World War II, seeing combat duty in Guam and the Pacific Theatre. He grew up in Yonkers, New York and attended the Pratt Institute. Representing the Yonkers Canoe Club, Bochnewich was AAU champion in the K-2 1,000 in 1950-51, and won the 1952 10,000 K-1 event. He became a national sales manager for Construction Products Co of Brookfield, Connecticut, retiring after 25 years. He later worked part-time as a freelance carpenter for Imperial Construction in Ridgefield.
