Biography

William Lofgren paddled for the Pendleton Canoe Club. He later represented the Knickerbocker Canoe Club. Lofgren served in World War II in the US Army as a technical sergeant, seeing duty in China and India. Lofgren and his wife, Betty, lived most of their marriage in Edgewater, New Jersey, where he worked as a master carpenter and woodworker. He was also a Broadway stagehand for many years. Later in life, he and his wife retired to Sun City West, near Phoenix, Arizona.
