Biography

In addition to becoming a successful businessman primarily in the insurance and commercial sectors, Martinos Simitsek continued the family tradition and joined the Olympic movement from a very young age. His most important positions: Vice-President of the Greek Olympic Committee, Vice-President of the International Olympic Academy, member of the marketing committee of the European Olympic Committees, and head of the Greek delegation to the Lillehammer Winter Olympic Games.

In addition, he was the operational manager of the Bid Committee of the 2004 Olympic bid, then the executive director and chief operating officer of the Olympic Organizing Committee.
