Biography
Luciano Barra was manager and secretary-general of the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) from 1970-88 when he was also the organisational manager of the main athletics events in Italy. In 1993 he joined the management team of the Italian Olympic Committee, advising on technical issues. Barra was appointed vice-president of the Organising Committee for the 2006 Torino Winter Olympics.
