Biography

Mino Auletta was an Italian attorney who was a civilian on the Milano High Court and the Supreme Court of Cassation. He was elected President of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on 3 April 2008, a position he already held as interim President after the death of the founder of the organization Kéba Mbaye and, for more than two years, he led the office that has the task of leading the CAS at an administrative and financial level and settling the most important disputes.

Auletta served through November 2010 but declined to run for re-election. He had also been legal counsel of the International Amateur Athletic Foundation and was a member of the legal commission of the International University Sports Federation (FISU). Auletta died suddenly from a heart attack in his Milano law firm in October 2012.
