Biography

Miklós Dudás started kayaking in Csepel with his first major success coming at the 2008 European Youth Championships in Szeged, where he won a bronze medal in the K–2 500 metres. A year later, Dudás celebrated his age group world championship title, stood on the top step of the podium in the K–1 and K–4 500 metres, and won a silver medal in the 1,000 metres with the fours.

Dudás did not have to wait long to make his début for the senior national team, as he was given the opportunity as a sprinter in 2010, finishing fourth in the 4x200m relay at the World Championships. Two years later at the London Olympics finished sixth in the K-1 200 metres.

At the 2013 World Championships in Duisburg, Dudás won bronze as a member of the 200-metres relay team, and at the European Championships in Portugal, he finished second in the kayak single 500 metres. A year later, in Moskva, he won the only world championship title of his career with gold in the relay.

Proceedings were initiated against Dudás before the 2016 Rio Olympics because discrepancies were found in his biological passport, and his testosterone levels were suspiciously fluctuating. He received a 34-month ban for the doping violation. After his return, Dudás won bronze medals at the World and European Championships in 2018 as a member of the fours. He announced his retirement in January 2021.
