Biography

Inkululeko Suntele joined the national boxing team of Lesotho in 2008 and won his first international junior tournament that same year in Botswana. As a senior, he competed in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in the light-flyweight category, losing his first bout, and later switched to the bantamweight division. It was in this category that he came in second at the 2016 African Olympic Qualifications, behind Bilel Mhamdi of Tunisia, and thus qualified for that year’s Summer Olympics. At the Games, he faced Mhamadi in the opening round and again lost, thus failing to advance. He continued to train for the 2018 Commonwealth Games but, in October 2017, he was stabbed to death in Maseru while out with friends.
