Biography

Loris Campana was a successful pursuit cyclist. At the Helsinki Olympics, the Italian quartet soundly beat the South Africans for the gold. Individually, Campana won two World Championship medals, a bronze in 1952 and a silver in 1953. His palmarès also includes two Italian titles, winning both the individual and team pursuit in 1955. Campana never embarked on a professional career.
