Biography

Don Myrah was a cyclo-cross legend in the United States, but that discipline is not contested at the Olympics, so in 1996 he competed in mountain biking at the Atlanta Games. He first attracted attention as a junior when he won the 1984 California Junior Road Race title. In the next 12 years, Myrah was US Cyclo-Cross Champion four times and on the podium seven times. In 1989 he won the inaugural World Cross-Country Championships in mountain biking.

After the Olympics, Myrah took a hiatus from racing to raise a family and work on his business interests. He returned to the mud in 2007, and continued to compete in elite races, but also ventured into masters racing. In 2012 and 2013 he was Masters World Champion in cyclo-cross, while winning the US title in 2012-14.
