Biography

Austrian cyclist Kurt Schein did not finish the road race at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. Consequently, the Austrian team was unplaced. Schein was also in the 4,000 metres pursuit team that was eliminated in the first round, and in the 1,000 metres time trial he finished 11th. Four years later at Rome, Schein was again a member of the 4,000 metres pursuit team that did not advance to the second round. Domestically, he won 22 Austrian titles from 1953-66.
