Biography

Franco Testa was an Italian cyclist who won two Olympic medals in team pursuit, with gold in 1960 and silver in 1964. He began his career with G.S. Mogliano, then moved to Treviso and finally Ciclisti Padovani. Testa won four Italian Championships in team pursuit, and won gold in the event at the 1959 Mediterranean Games, adding another Mediterranean gold in 1963 in individual pursuit.

Testa also competed on the road, winning the Italian Cup in team time trial in 1960-61 and 1964. He turned professional in 1965, riding in support of the legendary Leandro Faggin. After a short career Testa started a butcher shop in Mogliano Veneto. He was later awarded a gold medal by the Italian Olympic Committee in honor of his achievements.
