Norwegian cyclist Leif Ekås had a good set of results either side of World War II, winning several national titles. In 1936 Ekås won the 100 km individual time trial at the national championships and finished second in the same event at the Nordic Championships in Stockholm. He then won back-to-back national time trial titles in 1938 and 1939, before becoming the Norwegian road race champion in 1946. For his consistent performances he was awarded with the King’s Cup in 1936, 1939, and 1946. Ekås was also selected to compete in the road race at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, but he did not start the event.
