Biography

Wes Wessberg grew up as an Army brat, living as a child in Japan, England, and Pennsylvania. After high school in Washington, DC, he joined the Air Force, where he became a boxer, trained by Pappy Gault, who coached the 1968 Olympic boxing team. After leaving the Air Force, Wessberg went to junior college in California, where he started cycling. He later attended and graduated from Cal State Northridge, earning a degree in physics. Wessberg settled near Denver, Colorado.
