Biography

Jean Bayard played rugby football at the 1924 Paris Olympics, winning a silver medal with the French team, while playing as a prop forward, although he also played hooker for his club. He played for Stade Toulousain from 1913-25, winning French titles with them in 1923 and 1924, and losing in the 1921 final. Bayard studied at the Lycée de Toulouse. He served in World War I from 1915-18 as a pilot. During the Vichy regime he was made inspector of youth sports, serving in that role until 1946.
