Biography

Born in the Netherlands, Zoltán Berkes had acquainted sports there as a child. Between 1934 and 1936, already in Hungary, he played hockey for MAC and a BBTE. With the latter affiliation, he won the Hungarian championships six times between 1937 and 1943. After the Second World War, he won new championship titles in 1947 in the colors of Bp. Kinizsi, in 1948 in Vasas, in 1950 in MTK, and in 1954 in the colors of Bp. Szikra SK.

Between 1936 and 1947 he appeared four times for the Hungarian national team. He took part in the 1936 Berlin Olympics, where he only played in the match against Japan.
