Biography

Manzoor Hussain was a Pakistani field hockey player who won a bronze medal at the 1976 Montréal Olympics and a gold medal eight years later in Los Angeles. At those Games he was also the Pakistan flagbearer at the opening ceremony and was the hockey team captain. Hussain was also on the Pakistani squad that won the gold medal at both the 1978 and 1982 Asian Games, and also the World Cup in the same years. In 1978 and 1980 he won the Champions Trophy and in 1982 the Asian Cup. Hussain won 175 international caps and scored 86 goals. His brothers Maqsood and Mahmood were also field hockey players.
