Biography

Elisabeth Grasser finished eighth in women’s foil fencing at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. She was Austrian foil champion in 1934, placed second in that event in 1930-31, 1933, 1935-36, and was third in 1929 and 1937.

She competed at the World Championships in 1932-33 and 1935-36, winning team foil silver medals in 1932 and 1935, and team foil bronze medals in 1933 and 1936. It appears that she emigrated to Great Britain in 1938 or 1939 as a World War II internees card mentioned that she was exempt from internment.
