Biography

Marion Lloyd started fencing in 1925 and competed in foil fencing at the 1928, 1932, and 1936 Olympics. She was US junior champion in 1926 and later won the AFLA foil championship in 1928 and 1931, standing on the podium eight times. She also won the Metropolitan foil championship for five consecutive years (1927-31). Lloyd worked as a secretary for the National City Company during her competitive career. The US Women’s Under-19 Foil Champion receives the Marion Lloyd Trophy in her honor.
